Kompanion is a daily Phrase puzzle from Kinopy. You link tiles in pairs, and each pair must read as a phrase or a compound word. A new daily grows at midnight in your own time zone. Each mode has its own daily.
Each pair makes a phrase or a compound word. The two tiles read in order. The tile nearer the soil line comes first, so a pair reads point blank, not blank point.
Each puzzle has two boards that share one seed. The Rootlet grows down from the seed. The Sapling grows up from it.
The Sapling uses the same rule. It asks more of you and gives you one guess fewer than the Rootlet. A daily Kompanion gives 6 guesses on the Rootlet and 5 on the Sapling.
The Sapling unlocks when the Rootlet ends, after a win or a loss. A loss on the Rootlet never keeps you from the Sapling.
POINT connects to BLANK (point blank) and to GUARD (point guard). Here are the steps.
The name is companion with a K, like the other Kinopy modes.
Companion planting puts two plants side by side, because each one helps the other grow. Basil and tomatoes are a well-known example.
In Kompanion, two words grow side by side in the same way. Together they make a phrase or a compound word.
