Klimber

Klimber is the Ladder mode of Kinopy, a daily puzzle shaped like a plant. Each pair of tiles holds two words that differ by one letter. You link the pairs to grow the plant. A new Klimber daily grows at midnight in your own time zone.

The rule

The two words of a pair differ by one letter. The letter sits in the same place in both.

Each puzzle has two boards that share one seed. The seed sits on the soil line. The Rootlet grows down from it as roots. The Sapling grows up from it.

The Rootlet ends with the seed in plain view. The Sapling starts from the same seed, so it asks more of you.

The Sapling rule

The Sapling rule is wider. Each pair changes one letter, adds one letter or takes one letter away.

The Sapling also gives you one guess fewer. A Klimber Rootlet gives six guesses, and the Sapling gives five.

An example, step by step

Say the board holds the tile COLD.

Four tips

The name

Klimber comes from climber, a plant that grows up a support, such as a vine on a trellis. It rises one rung at a time.

In Klimber, each word climbs one step from the word before it, as on a word ladder. Klimber also spells climber with a K, as Kalyx and sKion do for calyx and scion.
