About Kinopy

Kinopy is a daily link puzzle shaped like a plant. Each puzzle grows from one hidden seed, and you link the tiles that belong together.

What Kinopy is

Every puzzle has two boards that share one seed. The seed sits on the soil line. The Rootlet grows down from it as roots. The Sapling grows up from it.

You swap tiles, tap the branch between two tiles to link them, and press Submit. A right branch turns green. A wrong branch is cut. You win a board when every branch is right, and you lose it when the guesses run out.

The Sapling opens when the Rootlet ends, after a win or a loss. It gives you one guess fewer. A new daily grows at midnight in your own time zone, and each mode has its own daily.

Why a plant

A plant gives the puzzle a clear direction. Roots grow down from the seed, and branches grow up from it. In Kompanion and catKin, the tile nearer the soil line comes first in a pair.

A plant also grows from one small thing. In Kinopy, that small thing is the seed, and a line of words in the sky hints at it.

The name

Kinopy comes from canopy, the roof of leaves at the top of a forest. Every Kinopy puzzle grows toward it. The name also holds the word kin. Kin are the words that grow from one seed, like a family.

The name hides a capital K, and a capital Ki and Kin too. The capital K of every mode name shows in leaf green. Each mode name puns on a plant.

Who makes it

Tetsuhiro Development, a one-person studio in Singapore, makes Kinopy.

Kinopy was latKis before October 2026. The puzzles are the same, and your progress came with you to the new name.

Kinopy is a personal take on Pyralinks by TMBoyz LLC.

This is what Kinopy adds. Each puzzle has a Rootlet and a Sapling on one seed. There are five modes, from phrases to math. Three lifelines help you without costing a guess. Your device also grows a tree of its own.

How Kinopy draws the plants

Kinopy draws every plant and tree in code, with no image model. Each player grows a tree of their own, and a signed-in player grows the same tree on every device.

Your results add small marks to your tree. Every tree keeps the full base shape, so a mark never works as a penalty.
